Gold Country is a new California Gold Rush strategy game created by Reiner Knizia and gorgeously illustrated by Beth Sobel. Each turn, you’ll develop mining companies, buy and sell shares of those mining companies, spend your money on powerful abilities cards, and more! Gold Country enables shared incentives, encourages tactical pivoting, and rewards strategic foresight amid its simple rules and challenging decisions. The game ends once all the gold veins have been discovered, then the richest player wins.
- Shared Incentives: For one mining company, you’ll team up with one or more invested players to help it grow in wealth. For another mining company, you’ll scheme to sabotage the mine and hurt your rivals who own far too many shares. In the land of gold, anything is possible.
- Tough Decisions: Players must read the board and their opponents’ intentions as they navigate the mine field of lucrative gold veins, devastating fools gold, destructive cave-ins, and more.
